For this blog, the assignment is for students to watch the above Ted Talk on holistic care for pet health and longevity (Rodney, 2016). I have included activities that will provide both instant computer generated feedback, peer-feedback and written feedback, a main writing assignment in response to the video, fun and reflective quizzes using integrative platforms and tools, and have sought to remove learner’s barriers to improve accessibility design for inclusion to all.

Group inclusive activity and peer feedback: There is a comment section and discussion board on the webpage host that learners are required to participate in. Participation grade is 10% of the overall course and requires that a thoughtful and insightful reflection be posted. Learners are asked to respond to two of their own peer’s comments to engage in interactive group discussions.

Main writing assignment: Concisely summarize the principal points of the video (you may use bullet points if you like). Provide an analysis of how comprehensive and useful the talk was. Reflect on the video’s message and share your thoughts and any personal reactions. Finally, summarize everything to write an ending conclusion. Please be sure to cite your source properly with reference and in text citations using APA 7th edition. Grading will be through a rubric system with written, personalized feedback provided from the educator.

Fun, reflective quizzes: developing a YouTube video through Canvas that provides multiple choice questions and computer generated responses is an excellent way to provide an engaging and educational way to solidify the main points of the Ted Talk and help drive home the key takeaways. Students would need access to wifi and a tablet, computer or device. The quiz would be easily accessible on the hosted website through an embedded video through simply clicking play on the YouTube video. The educator can program feedback responses within the platform to mark the answers automatically, providing instant feedback if they are correct or incorrect. This can also be done for fill in the blank type of question and answer quizzes and activities.

Making technology barriers accessible: if a learner has a disability and is registered with the centre of assess ability for learning, they can send a letter with their accommodations and also, must email the educator for help. For all students, office hours will be made twice per week on Monday and Wednesday between 10-12 for extra help and emails will be answered within 24 hours.
